16. Silke Schelenz

I am a printmaker using conventional and unconventional techniques including etching, carborundum and lino but I also work in watercolours and charcoal.
My subjects are often based on my photographic images that I collect over the year with a focus on people, their silhouettes and shadows, as well as prominent landscapes. My work seeks to capture an emotional state, sometimes unexplained mystery, mixed in with a sense of unmasked melancholy often unknown even to the artist.
